    Everyone has a legal duty to make HMRC aware of all their income. A lot of this is (or soon will be) done by the organisations that provide that income (deposits, company dividends, employer, etc).

    Do you object to these organisations providing the information without any allegation of fraud?

    How would you detect that someone is committing fraud if you do not gather income information from organisations that provide it?
