Agent to Agent transfer - No deposit option

Hoping for some advice on this situation. We are taking over a property from another agent and the AST details a 'no deposit option'. We would usually secure a deposit and register with the DPS. Where would stand in this instance. The tenant is currently on a rolling contract.

    You are an agent?

You can't impose a deposit half way through a contract. Unless the tenant agrees, but why would they unless something else if offered. They would likely be paying a higher rent (on average) with no deposit.

Someone is transferring their property over for this 'agent' to manage. To quote Mr T, "I pity the fool"
