    Stridelet Rent Guarantee Insurance

I usually get the above insurance via my letting agent. He had said years ago that he got it cheap - it's been around the £140 mark but only £110 last year. I'm shocked to see the same policy at £270 this year (July to July). I had asked him to increase the rent by £45 per month and don't know if that's the cause as it would take it over £900 mark. Or is it to do with Covid? I get it through the agent so that if there did need to be a reason to clain, they'd deal with it. Does anyone know much it should cost?
I'm starting to think it would be less of a headache if I let my son and his uni mate move in instead.

Lots of companies are not offering RGI at the moment, I suspect only your agent/insurer can answer the question,

    All the best

General advice is never to rent to freinds or family.

I've never wasted time or money of RGI, unless rolled in to general landlord insurance
I am legally unqualified: If you need to rely on advice check it with a suitable authority - eg a solicitor specialising in landlord/tenant law...

whats the amount of annual rent protected by a premium of £270? Do the terms and conditions mean that claims are difficult anyway?

It says it includes things like legal cover and removing squatters also. I need to check the rent side of things as online they say the policy I have has no rent excess (they have 2 levels of cover online) but my documents say it has to be over 2 months loss of rent. I'm guilty of not reading through everything but I looked up Citizens Advice and the info there says there is a 14 day cooling off period which expires on Tuesday, in my case.
