This Forum's purpose- please do not misuse

This "Users" Forum is now available for all LZ members to use.

However, it will be more severly moderated than the others. It is only intended for users to post about (and to discuss) forum use and technical aspects of LandlordZONE as a whole.

Any non-compliant material will be deleted or moved elsewhere without notice.

Editor/Moderator-originated posts will be 'sticky' (given precedence on the newest page of the threads listing).

    Moderating posts in this Forum

New threads by many inexperienced LandlordZONE members are often mistakenly posted in How to Use these Forums.

To avoid the need for corrective posts asking that they be re-submitted to the correct Forum, a new procedure is now in operation. All posts here, no matter from whom, will be Moderated. They will not appear on screen unless and until approved by LZ. This procedure has been modelled on other larger websites (for example, those of the BBC) and will, it is hoped, ensure that new threads are correctly placed.

This procedure applies only to How to Use these Forums.

As of today, this Forum's title has been amended to include "and suggestions for improvements".
      These are welcome, but
      - only constructive and serious suggestions are to be made
      - anything not directly relevant will be deleted
      - all posts on this Forum will be continue to be pre-moderated (see post #2) before appearing.

Please bring back the original, friendly little 'rolleyes' emoticon. In fact, I would like to suggest that LLZ bins the current set of feeble-looking emoticons which are virtually indistinguishable from one another. Other forums have much better ones - we need to compete!

I've been using the forums for a couple of years now and have always found them interesting and informative as well as often very helpful. I usually search for answers to my questions in existing threads, however there doesn't appear to be a quick and easy way of doing this, so I end up scanning through...

Please avoid posting in threads more than 6 months old, and even then post only if you have something of significant value to add. Old threads can contain legally out of date advice.

Thanks moderators I appreciate the clarity and the factors you consider ( very reasonable )
Its a shame that people who are courteous and knowledgeable such as Lawcruncher should suffer abuse.

I was recently, quite rightly, criticised by the moderator for trying to exceed my role on the forum. The moderation was fair, reasonable and balanced. I was disappointed to be labelled a troll. Something I've always associated with foul and aggressive internet use. I've always tried to promote...

Pretty shoddy treatment indeed but try posting about the possibility of a house price rise on the anti-landlord website you're a member of.

I pretty much go with the definition that Mrs Mug posted above, so when I see someone accusing another forum member of ‘trolling’ then that is likely to attract my attention in a negative way for the person making the accusation.

If I see a new member posting such an accusation openly...

Thanks. Perhaps criticising some of the manner of expression used could be defined as off-topic. In that case, guilty, but I don't accept I've done any else.
