    Phishing attempt.

Is everyone else seeing the 'Website hacked' landing page on the forum homepage? (https://forums.landlordzone.co.uk/)

To me it looks more like a phising attempt by an injected forum page, rather than an actual database hack.

If you see it then I'd gnore it for now and wait for an official statement on if the database was actually breached.

    I think it's a configuration error.

When you click on the forum option in the main navigation section (the one with Main Site, Forums, News etc) the link is "https://forums.landlordzone.co.uk"

Rather than "https://forums.landlordzone.co.uk/forum" which is what it is from the link at the top of the forum section itself (the one that says Home Forum).

When you use "https://forums.landlordzone.co.uk" a load of text is automatically appended (which must be done by the web site itself).
    /search?searchJSON=%7B%22date%22%3A%7B%22from%22%3A %22lastDay%22%7D%2C%22exclude%22%3A%5B35%2C38%5D%2 C%22view%22%3A%22topic%22%2C%22sort%22%3A%7B%22las tcontent%22%3A%22desc%22%7D%2C%22exclude_type%22%3 A%5B%22vBForum_PrivateMessage%22,%22vBForum_Visito rMessage%22%5D%7D"

Depending on your browser settings that might be hidden, tolerated or trigger a warning.

The offending page has now gone and the genuine page is back in place.

I doubt very much that it was a configuration error; errors don't ask for payment in bitcoins or else they'll publish your databases.

Unless someone's injecting something into the site configuration.
Or the result of all that search text contains a redirect somewhere else.

I agree that an error demanding bitcoin would be remarkable!
