Tenant is moving room in a shared house (HMO) new tenancy?

    Hi,

I have shared house that I rent four rooms in (HMO) all of the Tenants have separate Tenancy Agreements for their individual rooms, one Tenant is moving into a bigger room which is slightly more expensive do I need to get them to sign a new Tenancy Agreement for the room they are moving into or can I just type something for them to sign saying that they have changed rooms and the previous Tenancy Agreement is valid and has been transferred to the new room? They are part way through their six months agreement and may not wish to sign another Tenancy Agreement for another six months.

    Thanks

What does the existing tenancy agreement say that the tenant is renting?
When I post, I am expressing an opinion - feel free to disagree, I have been wrong before.
Please don't act on my suggestions without checking with a grown-up (ideally some kind of expert).

New tenancy, ALL new paperwork - deposit protection, inventory, photos gsc etc etc
I am legally unqualified: If you need to rely on advice check it with a suitable authority - eg a solicitor specialising in landlord/tenant law...

And don't forget to get a deed of surrender sorted for the old tenancy
