EPC PRS sector - A toolkit to help landlords make cost effective alterations

    Hi All,

I'm a final year Architectural Technology student currently looking into developing a toolkit to assist PRS landlords improving the EPC ratings of their properties as a part of my dissertation research topic. Can any PRS landlords take a look and complete this survey to aid the progression of research within this topic.

    https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/32JDYC2

    Thanks in advance,

    Taijan

I tried. Didn't say which country (Wales, NI ....) only gave one option for age when I have more than one property, only one option for property type (I have multiple types). Did you do a course on designing surveys?
I am legally unqualified: If you need to rely on advice check it with a suitable authority - eg a solicitor specialising in landlord/tenant law...

      Frankly Taijan,

Most of us consider the EPC ratings to be a lot of nonsense.

        Can't complete that survey.
How many properties (more than one) when was it built?
When I post, I am expressing an opinion - feel free to disagree, I have been wrong before.
Please don't act on my suggestions without checking with a grown-up (ideally some kind of expert).

Can't complete survey either. No option for flats. Can't enter multiple answers.

Taijan I think you need to scrap this survey, redesign it and come back to the forum once you have a survey that will actually provide you with some data that you can use.

What about properties built before 1919 like some of mine?

Agree with above comments plus some questions don't actually make sense; definitions of LLs a bit vague; no flats or coach hoses. Probably needs drop down menus for improvements. The survey is very simplistic and an EPC is very complex so I'm afraid you need to go back to the drawing board in my opinion.

Good idea t but the surveyor ignores stuff like wall or roof insulation.
