Govts Contradictory Green Policy

So.....at the same time as the consultation that would make LLs improve the energy efficiency of their properties to EPC C or above in order to help the Govt hit its climate change targets the Govt has given the go ahead for cost mine - Yes a COAL MINE - in Cumbria!

Any carbon savings made by the PRS (at considerable personal expense) must surely be completely wiped out by this. The argument is it will create jobs and we would import the coke anyway but it just feels like we are a pawn in the Govts illogical & inconsistent policy.

If that part is correct, it sounds a logical policy.

Coal is obviously a less-ideal energy source, but where it is mined is neither here nor there.
We have bigger problems anyway -- China and India -- (the former being the main imperialist colonising power right now) is going to be taking over the world, they will be using a lot of energy to do that, and they won't give a flying stuff how it is made.
