Boiler installation, wrong fittings used for flu. Can I claim some money back?

I had a new boiler fitted in 2018, the installer did the gas safety check the following year. I have just had somebody else do the check and they said the flu is not fitted with the clamps which would have been provided, which it should have been. I am now having to pay for the correct clamps to be fitted which is costing a lot. Is there a way I can claim this off the original installer?

Was it our friends at British Gas who identified the defect?
When I post, I am expressing an opinion - feel free to disagree, I have been wrong before.
Please don't act on my suggestions without checking with a grown-up (ideally some kind of expert).

It wasn't, it was a private company. How come?

Because they have a bit of a reputation for that.
Finding things that are not perfect, but perfectly safe and telling people they have to be fixed.
